3. Increase Muscle Mass
Another important thing that you will want to do in order to increase your weight loss efforts is to increase your muscle mass.
By taking steps to increase your muscle mass, you should be able to better your body’s own inherent fat-burning ability.
This comes through increasing your metabolism. The best way to increase your muscle mass is to implement strength training exercises into your routine.
By implementing more strength training exercises, you allow your body to generate more muscle – which can boost your metabolism.
4. Eat a Balanced Breakfast
You may have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that is certainly true when it comes to bettering your ability to lose weight.
By eating a balanced breakfast and adding a healthy amount of good fats and protein to your diet, you will be able to decrease the need of snacking mid-day, which is where a lot of people run into trouble.
Here’s a recipe for “Balanced Breakfast Egg Cups” that will yield you a big batch all at once that you can eat all week:
- 1 small spaghetti squash
- 1 tablespoon butter, or oil of choice
- 4 slices bacon
- 1, 10 ounce bag frozen spinach
- 12 eggs
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Chives, chopped for garnish
Cut the spaghetti squash in half, scrape out the seeds, and place it in a rimmed baking dish face-down with 1/4 cup of water. Bake at 375 F for 1 hour, or until soft. Once cooked, set aside until cool enough to handle. Once cooled, scrape the squash out into a large bowl and mix with 1/2 teaspoon sea salt.
While the squash is cooking, cook the bacon in a pan with matching lid over medium heat until crisp. Remove from pan, let cool, then crumble.
Sauté the frozen spinach in the leftover bacon grease and then place the lid on the pan and steam for 1-2 minutes, until cooked through.
Grease 12 muffin tins with butter, ghee, or other oil of choice.
Place spinach on top of the spaghetti squash, then crack an egg on top of the spinach in each muffin tin. Note, you will use about 1 cup of spaghetti squash so you will have leftover spaghetti squash from this recipe. Sprinkle the salt and pepper over the eggs, then top with bacon.
Place egg cups in the oven to bake at 375 for 25 minutes, until yolks are fully set.
Because a balanced breakfast is capable of helping curb your hunger throughout the day, it is going to allow you to really be able to minimize the amount of bad food you consume between meals.
This will help to jump start your metabolism at the same time.
5. Create Small Daily Goals
Another major thing that you will want to do in order to successfully lose weight is create small goals that you can strive for every single day.
A lot of success in losing weight is going to come from having the motivation and drive to do so successfully.
In order to really start to lose weight, you will want to be sure to maintain a consistent and high level of motivation each and every day.
A lot of people lose motivation throughout their journey to lose weight since it can be very long and tiring.
